Camera/phone: When it comes to celebrity spotting, LAX airport is the place to be. You will find many celebrities flying into and out of LAX, so make sure you have your camera or mobile phone at the ready so that you can get your photo before they are whisked away out of sight.
Money: Always make sure that you pack some local currency when traveling through LAX, as there are many placed to eat, drink and shop. While you are waiting for your boarding time you can relax with a bite to eat or a drink and you can even pick up some bargains duty free.
Tickets and passport: When you are traveling from such a busy airport the last thing you want is to be the one that is holding up all the queues while you rummage around in various bags trying to find your passport and boarding pass. Make sure that these documents are within very easy reach so that you can just grab then and put them away again without any undue hassle.
Flat shoes: LAX is a very big airport and a very busy one, which means that not only are you likely to be doing a fair bit of walking but there may also be a lot of standing around. If you are going to insist on wearing high heels while setting off on your travels it might be a good idea to put some flat shoes in your carry on luggage (you can even get the flat ones that fold up these days, which are even easier to carry). If you get held up in long queues or your feet start to ache you can just slip them on.
Reading material for delays: Remember, a lot of flights depart from LAX and it is inevitable that there will be delays now and again. Remember to pack at least one book or magazine in your hand luggage so that you have something to keep your occupied in the event of delays.
