LAX travelers manage to avoid highway closure chaos
Last weekend, staff at LAX airport along with the many people traveling in and out of the airport were expecting huge delays as a result of the closure of the 405 Freeway, which had been closed for construction works. LAX Airport officials had released numerous warnings about the chaos that would ensue as a result of the closure, dubbing the weekend as ‘Carmageddon’.
However, despite the expectations of chaos most travelers said that they did not experience lengthy delays as a result of the works being carried out, despite the fact that they had been preparing for the worst. One passenger said that she was going to set out at 4:30am to catch an 8:50am flight from LAX. However, because no issues were reported on traffic news she waited until 6am before setting out.
Some travelers had even paid for hotels close to LAX, where they stayed overnight before they flew out in order to eliminate the risk of being late because of the traffic chaos. The problems that stemmed from the highway closure were nowhere near as disruptive as most had expected them to be. However, it was clear that people were not prepared to take any chances through the actions that they had been taking such as staying close to the airport overnight or setting out extra early.
One traveler even described her journey to LAX Airport as having been ‘a breeze’ after she reached the airport with no problems whatsoever and no delays on her LAX journey.
